1939 - 1945

Unfortunately, Poland was unlucky enough to be the first country to be attacked by Germany and the Soviet Union. Germany invaded on September 1, the Soviets followed on September 17. This proved too much for the solid Polish army and on October 6 it was over. Ultimately the country would be liberated by the same Soviets. The country would be liberated around the end of January 1945.
